Welcome to the Gippsland Athletics Club Website

Gippsland Athletics club was founded in 1955. Our aim is to promote, encourage and improve athletic competition in the Gippsland Region. We offer a relaxed and friendly environment for individuals and families and encourage participation from all ages and abilities. Athletes compete in age groups from U14 up to Masters. Regular track and field competition is held from October to March on Tuesday evenings starting at 6.00pm at the Joe Carmody Athletics Track in Newborough.

The Victorian Country championships are a main feature in the athletics calendar and this year are being held at Bendigo's Regional Athletics Complex.

The club and committee want to wish the athletes making the trip the best of luck for their chosen events.

This year Gippsland Athletics will be represented by Fiona Saltmarsh, Aaron Saltmarsh-Milne, Jude Fernando, Jordan Humphrey and Simon Van Baalen.

These athletes look to test themselves against some strong competitors from around the state.

With Jude Fernando recently breaking the Mens Masters Triple Jump record, which has stood for 30 years and was held by club legend and life member Vern Curnow, we are expecting big things!

Vale – Heather Daldry

Vale Heather Daldry, I am so sad to be writing to let you know that sadly Heather passed away Wednesday night.

Gippsland Athletics will miss Heather dearly as athlete, coach, mentor, Life member and friend to all. Heather held positions on the Executive Committee for many years as President, Vice President, which she held until her passing, and registrar. Heather was a friend to many and our condolences go to her family who have lost a wife, mother, grandmother and more.

To quote from the family of what Heather said "I have no regrets, I have lived a wonderful life"
